Senate discussed bill on amendments to Law ?On political parties?
ASTANA. January 12. KAZINFORM. The Senate?s Committee on Legislation and Legal Issues has discussed a draft law ?On amendments to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan ?On political parties?, Kazinform refers to the House?s press service.
The amendments to the Law ?On political parties? are aimed at the promotion of democratic processes, further development of Kazakhstan?s political system and rising of political parties? role in all spheres of social relations, including improvement of organization-legal issues in the activity of political parties.
The legislative novelties simplify the registration procedure for political parties; provide decrease in the number of political parties? members, required for its registration, from 50 to 40 thousand people and reduce the regional qualification from 700 to 600 people.
The draft law prescribes obligatory establishment of an organizational committee for preparation for the founding congress (conference) of a political party.
The document also offers the amendment forbidding citizens or organizations who receive grants or other means from international or foreign non-governmental organizations to raise funds of a political party and its structural units (affiliates and representations).
The Law ?On political parties? is also amended with a new article regulating the financing mechanism of political parties elected to the Majilis following the results of last elections at the expense of budget means.
