Senate holds meeting with members of IMF
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Chairman of the Committee on Finance and Budget under the Senate Rashid Akhmetov has held a meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund, Kazinform refers to the press service of the House.
The two sides have discussed the main priorities of the economic policy of Kazakhstan Government. Mr. Akhmetov informed the mission about five institutional reforms - Plan of the nation and the new economic course "Nurly Zhol". The head of the IMF mission Hossein Samia assessed the current economic situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the meeting they parties also exchanged views on issues of monetary policy, banking sector, as well as development of small and medium-sized businesses. In addition the roundtable discussed Kazakhstan's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union and the country's cooperation with international financial institutions and the IMF.
