Senate ratified treaty on long-term friendship and cooperation of SCO member states

ASTANA. January 15. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The Senate of the Kazakh Parliament has adopted the Law ?On ratification of the agreement on long-term good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation of Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries?, Kazinform reports.

As Kazakh Vice Foreign Minister Nurlan Danenov noted, the main purpose of the treaty is to define a legal framework, expand mutually beneficial cooperation and create favorable conditions for the sustainable development of member countries. The provisions of the treaty provide for a wide spectrum of interaction of SCO members in the political, economic, social and cultural development. The treaty was signed in Bishkek on August 16, 2007.
