Senate ratifies Agr't on Secretariat of Customs Union Commission

ASTANA. November 12. KAZINFORM. /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The Senate of the Kazakh Parliament has adopted the Law "On ratification of the Agreement on Secretariat of the Customs Union Commission" at its plenary sitting today.

Presenting the document Executive Secretary of Foreign Affairs Ministry Rapil Zhoshybayev noted that the Secretariat is responsible for organization of work of the Customs Union Commission and its information and technical support.

The Agreement determines the functions, financing of activity and the staff of the Secretariat. The budget of the Secretariat consists of the assessed contributions of the Customs Union member states. Officials and staff members of the Secretariat are the international civil servants. In accordance with the Agreement they can enjoy immunities and privileges on the territory of the sides set by the EurAsEC Convention on Privileges and Immunities.
