Senate?s Committee considers bill on international highway service

ASTANA. January 8. KAZINFORM The Kazakh Senate?s Committee on Economic and Regional Policy has considered a draft Law relating to ratification of the intergovernmental Agreement between Kazakhstan and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on international highway service; Kazinform refers to the Senate?s press service.

This Agreement was signed on August 8, 2007 in Astana. It is aimed at further development of the Kazakh-Jordanian trade-economic cooperation, implementation of the country?s transit potential. Ratification of the draft Law allows creating of a legal base for operating on the route Kazakhstan-Jordan. A Draft Law ?On amendments to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan ?On state support of innovative activity? was also considered at the session. The draft was elaborated for improvement of the Kazakh legislation in the sphere of the state support of innovative activity, creation of necessary conditions for increase of innovative activity in the country and strengthening connection of science and production. Within the discussion amendments were made to the document. They are directed to improvement of norms of the draft law. Both documents are directed to the Senate?s consideration.
