Senate Speaker Ashimbayev extends condolences to families of AZAL plane crash victims

Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev expressed condolences to the families and relatives of the AZAL plane crash victims, Kazinform News Agency reports.

“We all are shocked at the plane crash that occurred in Mangistau region yesterday. Unfortunately, crew members and passengers including nationals of Kazakhstan died. We express our condolences to the families and relatives of all victims,” said Ashimbayev at the opening of the upper chamber’s session.

He reminded that at the President’s instruction a governmental commission was set up.

“All necessary measures were taken during the rescue operation. We hope that the work carried out timely will positively impact soonest recovery of those injured,” the Senate Speaker noted.

The Baku-Grozny flight J2-8243 operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) crashed near Aktau on December 25.
