Senate Speaker held a number of meetings in St. Petersburg

INT PETERSBURG. November 9. KAZINFORM /Kanat Mametkazyuly/ Today a Kazakh parliamentary delegation headed by Senate Chairman Kairat Mami has arrived in St. Petersburg for participation in a session of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

The delegation participants laid flowers at the monument to Zhambyl Zhabayev, which was opened on May 30, 2003.

Today K.Mami has held a number of meetings.

At the meeting with Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn the issues regarding deepening interparliamentary relations were discussed. The Senate Speaker noted that the Kazakh-Ukrainian relations are characterized by mutual understanding and high level of mutual confidence.

The Kazakh Speaker met with Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of Tajikistan Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloev. They discussed the issues regarding development of bilateral relations, including deepening interparliamentary dialogue.

At the meeting with Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Anatoly Rubinov Kazakh Speaker K.Mami emphasized that Belarus is one of the main partners of Kazakhstan in the post-Soviet space.
