Senate Speaker K.Tokayev receives Ambassador of Italy S.Ravagnan

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Senate Speaker Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Kazakhstan Stefano Ravagnan at his request.

The head of the upper house of the Parliament expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of the Kazakh-Italian cooperation which has been facilitated by the talks between Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Renzi in June and October 2014. Tokayev stated the importance of parliamentary exchanges between the two countries. He also expressed content with the interaction between the delegations in the framework of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the press service of the Senate reports. Tokayev informed S.Ravagnan on preparations for the fifth Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will be held in June the current year and will be dedicated to the dialogue of religious leaders and politicians in the name of peace, development and security. Head of the Kazakh Senate voiced hope on support of Kazakhstan's candidacy for non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and urged Italian companies to partake in the International exhibition "Expo-2017" in Astana.
