Senate Speaker, President of Portuguese Parliament meet
ASTANA. April 20. KAZINFORM Senate Speaker – Vice President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has arrived in Lisbon for participation in the session of the Bureau of the OSCE PA. K.Tokayev negotiated with President of the Assembly (Parliament) Jaime Gama; Kazinform refers to the Senate?s press service.

K.Tokayev noted Kazakhstan?s interest in development of bilateral cooperation and political interaction in bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations and invited Jaime Gama to pay an official visit to our country. He informed the Portuguese colleague of an activity of the Kazakh Parliament, expansion of its powers, constitutional reforms initiated by President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The Senate Speaker informed of preparation for the Kazakh chairmanship in the OSCE and implementation of ?The Path to Europe? state program.
Noting importance of the interparliamentary dialog, K.Tokayev told about participation of the Kazakh Parliament delegation in the second forum of the Alliance of Civilizations and preparation for the III Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana.
Jaime Gama expressed an interest in development of the Kazakh-Portuguese cooperation and further strengthening of relations between the two countries parliaments.
K.Tokayev expressed gratitude for an opportunity of faceted exchange of opinions on a wide range of issues, good organization of the OSCE PA Bureau.
At the session reports of OSCE PA President Soares and OSCE Secretary General Spencer Oliver were listened to.
