Senate Speaker received Chairman of XUAR National Political Advisory Council

ASTANA. October 27. KAZINFORM Speaker of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received Chairman of the National Political Advisory Council of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Askhat Kerimbay; the Senate's press service told Kazinform.

K. Tokayev emphasized the importance of Mr. Kerimbay's visit for Kazakh-Chinese relations characterized by high level of political trust and economic cooperation.

The sides discussed the issues regarding the International Border Cooperation Center "Khorgos". The Kazakh Senate Speaker noted that implementation of that project would promote dynamic development of economies in the border regions, as well as transit potential of the two states.

K. Tokayev informed of the coming OSCE Summit planned for December 1-2 in Astana.
