Senate Speaker to participate in II Forum of Alliance of Civilizations in Istanbul

ASTANA. April 4. KAZINFORM Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakhstan Parliament, Head of the Secretariat of the World and Traditional Religions? Leaders, is scheduled to take part in the II Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations in Istanbul on April 5-7, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Chamber.

Three plenary sessions are to take place within the forum. The first one is devoted to the theme ?Shaping the global agenda in times of crisis - Why does good governance of cultural diversity matter?? K. Tokayev is expected to make a report during the second plenary session on ?Enhancing dialogue and strengthening cooperation: connecting innovative policies and initiatives?. The topic of the third plenary session is ?Education for dialogue: building peace in the minds of people?. The Senate Speaker is to have meetings with High Representative of the UN Secretary General for the Alliance of Civilizations Jorge Sampaio, Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, ex-President of Iran M. Khatami and the Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew I. K. Tokayev is also expected to meet President of Turkey A. Gul, Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (Parliament) K. Toptan for promotion of further development of the bilateral cooperation.
