Senate Speaker visits N Kazakhstan

ROPAVLOVSK.  August 28. KAZINFORM  /Sergey Kuznetsov/ The issue of interaction of maslikhats and executive bodies in the conditions of the financial crisis has been discussed in the course f the visit of a group of senators in North Kazakhstan oblast today. The delegation is headed by Senate Speaker Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.

Welcoming the participants Akim of the oblast Serik Bilyalov noted the amendments introduced into the Constitution in 2007 let solve the issues connected with local self-administration in Kazakhstan. Enhancement of the power of the Parliament and maslikhats, strengthening the role of the political parties, development of the institutes of the civil society stimulates socio-political activity of the people, their involvement in state administration, he said. 

The Senate Speaker in turn said that the new stage of Kazakhstan's development sets new objectives, new challenges. Their solution directly depends on unity of the people.

K.Tokayev took a favorable view of the work of the North Kazakhstan, its contribution to ensuring stability of the country's economy.
