Senators discussed Kazakh-Kyrgyz Agr't on coop in civil defense

TANA. November 29. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ A draft Law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on cooperation in the field of civil defense (protection, prevention and liquidation of emergency situations)" was discussed at a sitting of the Kazakh Senate's Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security.

"This Agreement was signed on June 16, 2009 in Astana within the first Kazakh-Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Council. The Agreement is aimed at creation of the legal framework for cooperation of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in the field of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations, and joint actions in case of emergencies on the territory of one of the parties," Vice Minister of Emergencies Valeriy Petrov said.

The Vice Minister noted that the Agreement provides a regular exchange of information, monitoring and etc.
