Сeremony of laying flowers at Eternal Flame and Glory Memorial in Almaty (PHOTO)

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Today Almaty Park named after 28 Panfilov Heroes has held a ceremony of laying flowers and wreaths at the Eternal Flame in front of the Memorial of Glory.

The ceremony was attended by Mayor of Almaty Akhmetzhan Yessimov, war and labor veterans. During the solemn ceremony Akhmetzhan Yessimov congratulated war veterans and home front workers the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. According to his words, in the city of Almaty were formed legendary 100th Infantry Brigade and the 316th Infantry Division. "During the war 528 Kazakhstanis became Heroes of the Soviet Union including the glorious daughters of the Kazakh people - Aliya Moldagulova and Manshuk Mametova, four brave sons of our people - Talgat Begeldinov, Sergei Lugansky, Leonid Beda and Ivan Pavlov - became twice Heroes of the Soviet Union.
