Serik Akhmetov: Kazakhstan one of the fastest growing economies in Central Asia
ASTANA. October 24. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan is one of the fastest growing economies in Central Asia, said Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov opening the 12th Ministerial Conference on Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC).
"This year, despite the uncertainty in the global economy, there is a fairly steady growth of the economy of Kazakhstan in foreign markets. Gross domestic product in the first nine months of the current year rose to 5.7 %. International reserves of the republic exceeded USD 90 billion. Only in the last seven years, the economy of Kazakhstan has attracted more than USD 155 billion of foreign direct investment", informed the Head of the Government.
Joining Top 30 most developed states requires Kazakhstan to modernize national economy. That involves increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of the economy through modernization and diversification, said the Prime Minister.
