Shavkat Rakhmonov's UFC title fight date announced

UFC officially announced the next fight of undefeated Kazakh welterweight fighter Shavkat "Nomad" Rakhmonov (18-0), Kazinform News Agency has learnt from Sports.kz.

As earlier reported, Rakhmonov will face another undefeated athlete Ian Machado Garry of Ireland (15-0). The five-round fight is scheduled to take place on December 7 in Las Vegas (USA) as a co-main event of the UFC 310 tournament. The event will be held in the early morning of December 8 in Kazakhstan.

Recall that initially Shavkat Rakhmonov was supposed to fight for the UFC welterweight title with current belt holder Belal Muhammad from the U.S., but the American caught a bone infection in his foot and was forced to withdraw from the fight.

Earlier, Shavkat Rakhmonov's UFC fight with Australian Jack Della Maddalena was also canceled.

Rakhmonov had his last fight in December, when he knocked out American Stephen Thompson (17-7-1) in the second round.

The Kazakhstani had six early victories in six UFC fights.

Shavkat Rakhmonov holds 3rd position in the updated UFC rankings.
