Shukeyev surveyed Atyrau Oil Refinery

ATYRAU. March 5. KAZINFORM /Andrey Sokolov/ Today First Vice Prime Minister Umirzak Shukeyev visited an oil refinery during his working visit to Atyrau, Kazinform reports.

The plant was built in 1945 and produces AI-80, AI-92, AI-93 and AI-96 clear gasoline, diesel fuel, vacuum gas oil, jet fuel, coke and fuel oil ? 21 items in whole. However, the depth of oil processing remains the lowest in the country ? 52%. Therefore in February the Government budgeted USD 3,100,000,000 mln for upgrading three oil refineries of Kazakhstan including the Atyrau Oil Refinery. The plant plans to build facilities which will produce 133 thousand tons of benzene and 496 thousand tons of paraxylene per year. It is also planned to build a new facility of deep oil processing. All of these will let Atyrau Oil Refinery double production of premium unleaded gasoline (up to 1, 100,000 tons), and inrease jet fuel fourfold (356 thousand tons per year). Production of diesel fuel will be raised up to 1, 400,000 tons annually.
