Siberian ibex, wild boar caught on trap camera in Ile-Alatau National Park

The Ile-Alatau National Park now monitors the numbers of wild animals with the help of camera traps, Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the park's press service.

“Currently, in accordance with the timing, the plan of works for the protection and reproduction of wildlife, instruction on maintaining the species of animals in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, wild animals count is carried out in the Ile-Alatau National Park. Furthermore, camera traps are utilized to record data. The hunter of the Aksay branch and inspectors installed camera traps in locations where wild animals cross paths and on alkaline land. As a result, a Siberian ibex (Capra sibirica), which is currently in its rut (mating season), and a wild boar were caught on camera trap,” the park’s statement reads.
