Smailov tasks to step up work on vaccination against measles

At the government’s weekly meeting today, prime minister Alikhan Smailov tasked the ministry of healthcare and regional akimats to step up the work on vaccination against measles. He said there is no other possible way to fight against similar dangerous diseases, Kazinform News Agency reports.

We must stop the rise in [measles - edit] cases. As is known, measles is dangerous for its complications, which negatively affect children’s health. Therefore, measures must be taken both by the healthcare authorities and citizens. The work on the vaccination must be stepped up, he said.

All the governors were tasked to keep the vaccination issue under their personal control and coordinate this work together with the ministry of healthcare.
