Small and medium businesses in Almaty region manufacture goods worth 1.6 trillion tenge
The share of small and medium businesses in the gross regional product of Almaty constitutes 45%, Almaty region governor Marat Sultangaziyev told a briefing at the central communications service, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The region takes fourth place after Astana, Almaty and Shymkent. For the past 10 months, the number of entrepreneurship entities grew by 4.7% to 143,000. Almost 247,000 people or every third economically active resident of the region work in this sphere. Since the beginning of the year, they manufactured goods up for 1.6 trillion tenge.
The governor said 1,094 soft loans worth 8.3 billion tenge were granted in 2023-2024 to open 46 farm cooperatives, and 130 small and medium businesses and increase average household income from 258,400 in the third quarter of 2023 to 293,400 in the third quarter of 2024.
It is noteworthy, since the year’s beginning, Almaty region has secured 778 billion tenge investment, while achieving a 109.1% growth in its short-term economic indicators, governor Marat Sultangaziyev said at a press conference.
