SMEs produce KZT1trl worth of products in Mangistau region
Mangistau region observes annual growth in the share of small- and medium-sized enterprises, governor Nurdaulet Kilybay said during a press conference at the Central Communications Service, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
Small- and medium-sized business is key to economy and employment. The sector’s share in the economy of the region grows with every passing year. For example, SMEs produced 1 trillion tenge worth of products as of December 1, 2024. The number of those engaged in SMEs stands at 147,400, accounting for 42% of the region’s active population. The state provides systemic support to give a new impetus to the development of businesses, said Kilybay.
According to him, 17.5 billion tenge has been allocated under the unified comprehensive program for development of entrepreneurship this year. The funds went to support 1,231 projects keeping 411 jobs and creating 373 more ones. Besides, state grants worth a total of 100 million tenge were provided for 20 projects of social entrepreneurs.
Earlier, Kilybay said Mangistau region eyes eight major projects to the tune of 27 trillion tenge.
