Snow and blizzard to batter Kazakhstan on New Year’s Eve
Kazhydromet issued a weather forecast for Kazakhstan for December 31 - January 2, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Due to the Scandinavian anticyclone ridge, the greater part of the country will experience unstable weather. Snow, blizzard and strong wind are to batter the country’s northwest, north, center, and east, black ice and sleet are forecast for the western, southwestern, southern, southeastern parts of the country on January 1-2.
Heavy precipitations (rain and snow) are expected in the mountainous areas of the country’s south and southeast on December 31. The country is also forecast to observe foggy and windy conditions.
Temperature will increase in the west from -5°C to +5°C in the nighttime, and from -3°C to +10°C in the daytime. The country’s northwest, north, center, east will see temperature increase to -2-13°C in the nighttime, and -7+2°C in the daytime, while the temperature will rise to 0-8°C in the east. No significant temperature fluctuations are anticipated in the southern and southeastern regions.
