SOCAR drills new wells in Caspian Sea
BAKU. November 22. KAZINFORM The Sate Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has started drilling of new oil wells in the offshore field "Oil Rocks ", the company reported on Monday, Kazinform refers to Trend News.
The drilling of a new well has been started from the platform "Oil Rocks-2521". The project depth of the well is 1,410 meters. According to the calculations of geologists, the well's daily debit will hit five tons.
Twelve wells will be drilled at the "Oil Rocks-2521" platform.
New platforms are necessary to maintain stable oil production at Oil Rocks, whose reserves are well developed. Oil Rocks is the first offshore oilfield where Azerbaijan has begun hydrocarbon production.
The residual recoverable oil and gas reserves at Oil Rocks exceed 182 million tons. Geological reserves amount to 365 million tons. Oil Rocks will be developed until 2035, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said earlier, Kazinform cites Trend News. See www.en.trend.az
