Social welfare system improves ? Nur Otan program performance
ASTANA. May 13. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ – The Nur Otan national democratic party is delivering its promises outlined in the Narodnaya Platforma program entitled ?For the Prosperity of Kazakhstan and Well-Being of the People: How We Improve the Life of Every Citizen?.

The social protection system is being developed in the country, with the government aid for the most vulnerable groups increasing.
As of January 1 the amount of social relief has been increased by 12% in average. The average amount of public assistance for the handicapped is KZT 14 066; survivor?s benefit amounts to KZT 12 662, age relief is KZT 7 223.
As per the republican budget for the years of 2009-2011, the size of social allowance will be increased by 9% in average annually in order to raise the living level of the population.
There are 102 public medic care centers, 127 social aid centers for the families with handicapped children, 321 social aid centers for the aged and disabled population, 10 rehabilitation centers for the disabled population working in the country.
More than KZT 8.6 billion plus KZT 2.1 billion of targeted transfers from the republican budget are envisaged for social support payments to the families with children.
The amount of payments from the Public Social Insurance Fund as of May 1 2009 was KZT 14 billion.
This year local budgets envisage more than KZT 4.3 billion and KZT 3.8 billion of general transfers as a housing aid. As of April 1, 2009 housing aid was provided for 142, 500 Kazakhstani families to the amount of KZT 1.5 billion. Also there has been introduced compulsory social insurance of pregnancy, childbirth and maternity for employed women.
