Solar clock in bronze one more attraction of Astana

ASTANA. July 4. KAZINFORM - "Sundial" is located in the Victory Park, near the sports complex called "Kazakhstan", along the Rowing Channel. It is made of bronze (a dial, a ten meter stele - "arrow" hours, inscriptions on the stele). The author of the project is architect Anton Maksimov.

"Today, the city has a new unique architectural object, which blends harmoniously into the image of our young capital, celebrating its 15th anniversary. I am sure that the sundial will be the favorite meeting place for not only residents, but visitors too, " said at the opening of a new attraction Deputy Mayor of Astana Sergei Khoroshun.

On the stele there are depicted important historical dates of significant milestones of world history. There is also left room for significant dates of future generations.

Before we took up making a solar clock, the master had consulted with specialists of domestic observatories to do and put chronograph according to all the rules. As a result, the gnomon (metal arrow in the center of the dial) shows the exact time. To define the time one needs to carefully follow the shade. Emphasis is made on the dial showing 6,9,12, and 3 on which the shadow of the stele will fall.

Sunclock for the 15th anniversary of the capital has been presented to city residents and guests of Astana by BI Group company.
