Soldiers of Khalifat link in Atyrau bombings confirmed

TANA. November 9. KAZINFORM /Murat Zhakeyev/ Involvement of "Soldiers of Khalifat" in the bombings in Atyrau has been confirmed during the investigations, Nurdaulet Suindikov, official representative of Kazakh General Prosecutor's Office told a briefing on Wednesday.

"Detainees testified that the instructions to conduct terrorist attacks in Kazakhstan, particularly in Atyrau, were received from members of this (Soldiers of Khalifat) group," Suindikov said.

According to him, in September this year a criminal group, which organized bombings in Atyrau, established contacts with members of Djund Al-Khalifat (Soldiers of Khalifat) terrorist group to destabilize the situation in Kazakhstan.

As reported earlier, on October 25 and November 1 this year the leader of this organization, citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rinat Habidolla distributed on the Internet the threats of terrorist attacks in Kazakhstan and then claimed responsibility for both explosions in Atyrau on October 31.
