Some Kazakh boxers to vie for top honors at Asian Championships in new weight classes
The 2024 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships will be held at the end of the year in Amman, Jordan. Several boxers of Kazakhstan are set to vie for top honors at the Championships in new weight classes, Kazinform News Agency quotes chief coach Kairat Satzhanov as saying.
According to Olympics.kz, he said the strongest boxers including Sanzhar Tashkenbai and Temirtas Zhusupov (48kg) as well as Saken Bibossinov and Damir Abdykhalykov (51kg) will defend the country’s colors at the Championships.
Makhmud Sabyrkhan will try fighting in the men’s 54 kg division. Serik Temirzhanov and Aibek Oralkhan will change their weight classes to compete in the men’s 60 kg and 92kg+ respectively.
Makhmud Sabyrkhan competed in the men’s 57 kg at the Summer Olympic Games, while Aibek Oralkhan in the men’s 92 kg.
As earlier reported, Kazakhstan won two medals at the 20204 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
