South Korea hosted Days of Almaty Oblast Culture

TALDYKORGAN. November 16. KAZINFORM /Sandugash Duissenova/ South Korean city Suwon, Gyeonggi-do province, has hosted the Days of Almaty Oblast Culture dedicated to the Year of the Republic of Kazakhstan in South Korea.

A delegation consisting of the representatives of creative groups of the Suyunbay Regional Philharmonics, Mukan Tolebayev National Instrumental Orchestra, Altynay Dancing Ensemble, Kulansaz and Achimnoul ensembles, masters of applied arts and employees of state bodies had left for Korea. The delegation was headed by Governor of Almaty oblast Serik Umbetov.

"In March 2008 our regions entered into a memorandum of friendship and cooperation. Alongside, a number of documents on mutual cooperation in various spheres was signed. Today's meeting in Gyeonggi province demonstrates our firm intention to develop the interaction between the regions. I am confident that this cooperation will be beneficial for our countries and will serve for development of friendship between our peoples", Serik Umbetov said.

In turn, Governor of Gyeonggi province Kim Moon-Soo expressed satisfaction with meeting the Kazakh guests in the Korean land and noted importance of such events directed on strengthening friendly ties.

According to Kim Moon-Soo, Gyeonggi province is the most populous one. Over 10.5 mln people live there.
