South Korea plans to export Kazakhstani chocolate to Asian countries

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Investors in South Korea believe that Kazakhstani confectionery may attract consumers in their home country and beyond. Vice Premier and Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan Asset Issekeshev has confirmed today that sweet goods made in Kazakhstan will be exported to South Korea and other Asian countries.

Minister Issekeshev revealed the exciting news while visiting a modernized confectionery factor of "Rakhat" JSC in Almaty city. The modernization of the factory was only the beginning. The new owners are planning to expand chocolate production in Almaty and create a new one in Shymkent, according to the Vice Premier.

He also added that foreign investors are to continue their projects in Almaty. LATTE, a South Korean pastry company, is currently №1 in Asia and it will continue to cooperate with its Kazakhstani partner.

"We need to expand Kazakhstani chocolate production. The investors said the quality of our chocolate products is quite good and they are ready to push exports to the Asian countries. They also want to produce their products at our factories in order to export them to Russia and Central Asia. We hope that this new stage in our promising partnership will help us create new jobs and products," A. Issekeshev concluded.
