'Sovremennik' theatre brought a performance to Astana which was never shown on other stages
From 4 to 10 of July tour of the Moscow Theatre is taking place on the stage of the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation confined to the 15th anniversary of the capital of Kazakhstan.
The first performance “Enemies: a story of love” was created after a novel of the Nobel laureate Isaac Bashevis Singer, in “Sovremennik” it was staged by Evgeny Arye. The performance tells about several tragic destinies of people, who survived the World War II by a miracle, who got through national socialism horrors and are trying to find themselves in peaceful life.
“All performances were staged by different stage directors. Performance to be shown today is called “Enemies: a story of love”. This performance has never been transported anywhere, we were sure that the decorations and illumination equipment were too heavy to lift and it would be impossible to go somewhere, that is why it’s the first time this performance is out of its theatre. For the first time ever we will show this performance to other public and spectators. We love this performance very much and we’ll be glad to stage it in Astana”, - Chulpan Khamatova told during the press conference.
The second performance “Happy New Year...” was created as a result of an experiment. The idea of this play was born as a result of friendly cooperation of two outstanding artists Sergey Garmash and Leonid Yarmolnik.
The theatre has also brought “Three sisters” which have been the visiting card of “Sovremennik” for over 25 years.
For 56 years of its existence, “Sovremennik” has been on tour in Kazakhstan twice. “Sovremennik” tour has become real not only due to efforts of state authorities, in this invitation the theatre sees not only the will of “KazRosGas” management to make a gift to the citizens by the anniversary, but also acute need of two cultures to interact, understand each other, which is of great importance for such theatre as “Sovremennik”.
“We’re very glad we’ve come to Astana, it’s almost the first time; although in 59 “Sovremennik” had a tour in Tselinograd, the team was very young. As of today conditions offered by the Kazakh-Russian company “KazRosGas” and the fund “Human and society” allowed to bring our performances for the first time. We are very grateful for such amazing attitude to our theatre!” – said the assistant of the artistic director of “Sovremennik” theatre Evgeniya Kuznetsova during the press conference.
The press conference involved Chulpan Khamatova, Alena Babenko, Sergey Garmash, Evgeniya Simonova, Sergey Yushkevich, Evgeniya Kuznetsova and the head of public relations and informational policy department of the LLP “KazRosGas” Yuliya Timchenko.
