SPA captures celestial alignment: Moon in the company of Mars, Jupiter, Aldebaran, Pleiades
Early July 30, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) lens captured a spectacular celestial event: the conjunction of the waning crescent moon with Mars, Jupiter, Aldebaran, and the Pleiades star cluster, SPA reports.
This alignment, visible to the naked eye, occurred at 02:30 am in the Northern Border region and continued until dawn.
Burjes Al-Faleah, a member of the Afaq Society for Astronomy, told SPA that the alignment of three celestial bodies and two stars is a mesmerizing phenomenon eagerly awaited by astronomy enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone with an interest in celestial objects. According to him, tomorrow at dawn, the moon will be in proximity to this celestial group.
Al-Faleah emphasized that the proximity of these celestial bodies was a visual effect and is not indicative of the actual distances involved. He recommended observing such phenomena in areas with minimal light pollution for the best experience.
