Space agencies of Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine discussed Baiterek space complex creation

ASTANA. July 10. KAZINFORM A three party netting of the heads of space agencies of Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine was held within the regular meeting of the CIS executive authorities on cooperation in the space sector in Yevpatoriya (Crimea, Ukraine).

Chairman of the National Space Agency of Kazakhstan Talgat Mussabayev, Russian RosCosmos Chairperson Vladimir Popovkin and director of the State Space Agency of Ukraine Yuri Alekseyev discussed issues concerning interaction and perspectives of realization of the project on Baiterek space launch complex based on Zenit carrier rocket at the Baikonur space port and signed joint protocol.

The protocol confirmed interest of the sides to develop trilateral cooperation on commercial operations at the Zenit rocket complex in frames of Baiterek space launch complex creation.

The protocol ensure the development of conditions and interaction mechanisms of all interested enterprises and organizations in the commercial operations' process.

According to Y.Alekseyev, Ukraine is interested in the use of the Zenit carrier rocket in frames of Baiterek space rocket complex creation.

"This will allow us to strengthen our market position and image of Zenit and expand international cooperation with Kazakhstan in the space sector," Alekseyev said.
