Space monitoring helps detect over 200 drug plantations, Kazakh Ministry
It is impossible to tackle the drug spread problem only by applying power methods, Kazakh Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov told the Government Hour at the Majilis on countering drug trafficking, Kazinform News Agency reports.
He stressed the need to carry out efficient drug abuse prevention measures involving all concerned bodies. “The nation’s gene pool, the future of children are in jeopardy,” he said.
The minister added the Government approved the 2023-2025 Comprehensive Plan to Combat Drug Addiction and Drug Trafficking. It is the first program document in this sphere since 2015. Its key goals are to prevent drug smuggling, reduce drug availability, raise the competence and status of authorized bodies, etc. State and public bodies are involved in the development of the comprehensive plan. As a result, space monitoring helped detect 265 drug plantations.
