Spain backs Astana's candidacy to host EXPO-2017- Deputy Prime Minister Manuel Chaves González

ASTANA. November 30. KAZINFORM Within the framework of the upcoming OSCE Summit Head of State Nursultan Nazarabyev has met with Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain Manuel Chaves González.

There was discussed a wide range of issues in international policy and bilateral cooperation of Kazakhstan and Spain at the meeting; the President's press service informs of it.

Manuel Chaves González congratulated the President on successful chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the OSCE.

"This presidency makes Kazakhstan an important player in the region and tells about Kazakhstan as about the Eurasian country", the Deputy Prime Minister noted at a briefing to journalists.

He also reminded that presentation of Astana as a candidate-city for holding international exhibition EXPO-2017 was carried out in Madrid.

"I informed President Nursultan Nazarbayev that Spain supports Astana's candidacy", Manuel Chaves González said.
