The first half of the final ended in a goalless draw. However, at the beginning of the second half - in the 47th minute - Nico Williams scored a goal against the English team from a pass by 17-year-old Lamine Yamal, the youngest player in the history of European Championship finals.

The final minutes of the match were dominated by relentless attacks from the Spanish team, which the English defense and goalkeeper managed to repel until the 87th minute. The decisive goal for “La Furia Roja” was scored by Mikel Oyarzabal, who completed a pass from the main meme hero of Euro 2024 - defender Marc Cucurella. Before the final, Cucurella promised to dye his curly hair red if Spain won the championship.

The Spanish national team became the European champion for a record fourth time, surpassing Germany with three victories. England lost its second consecutive European Championship final. The “Three Lions” team still remains without a single European trophy.
