Spain’s Técnicas Reunidas to build ammonia-carbamide complex in Aktau
Issues of implementation of investment projects in chemical and petrochemical industries were on the agenda of the meeting between Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov and Executive President of Spain’s Técnicas Reunidas Juan Lladó, Kazinform News Agency cites primeminister.kz.
Alikhan Smailov said that Spain is one of the key trade and economic partners of Kazakhstan in the European Union with an increase of 42% reported in bilateral commodity turnover last year. Since 2005, Spanish companies have invested about 300 million US dollars in Kazakhstan. Leading Spanish brands like Maxam, Inditex, Pronovias and are operating in Kazakhstan.
We welcome cooperation of Técnicas Reunidas with KazAzot and KazMunayGas in the development of a project design documentation of a new ammonia-carbamide complex in Aktau and in polyethylene production in Atyrau region, Smailov said.
He added that the construction of the ammonia-carbamide complex will enable Kazakhstan to produce carbamide, a unique nitrogen-containing fertilizer suitable almost for any soil.
He also highlighted that the construction of a large polyethylene production plant will contribute to the diversification of the country’s economy.
Successful implementation of the high-value added projects is important for us. The Government is ready to provide all-round support in implementation of investment projects in priority sectors of economy, the Kazakh Prime Minister noted.
In turn, Juan Lladó expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to work in Kazakhstan and thanked for the support provided.
He assured that his company will search for the best solutions and will ensure effective construction in partnership with local companies.
Técnicas Reunidas is a Spanish company specializing in design and implementation of industrial projects. Throughout its history the company has designed and managed construction of over 1,000 industrial enterprises in more than 60 countries of the world.
In 2020, Técnicas Reunidas opened its office in Astana. The company already participated in engineering works in Kazakhstan’s oil and gas sector in 2002-2004.
