Special Envoy of Kazakh FM meets with Egyptian FM in Cairo

ASTANA. November 9. KAZINFORM Special Envoy of the Kazakh Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bagdat Amreyev has held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit in Cairo.

Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt Bakhtiyar Tassymov and Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the OIC Bakhyt Batyrshayev took part at the meeting; the Kazakh MFA's press service informs.

The meeting was held within the framework of political consultations for coordination of the agenda of our country's upcoming chairmanship in the 38th session of the Council of OIC Foreign Ministers.

B.Amreyev handed over a message of Kazakh Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev to the Egyptian Foreign Minister, which notes that "Kazakhstan under President N.Nazarbayev's leadership reached significant results in its development and strengthens its international authority. The country's successful activity on the post of the OSCE chair country as well as holding the OSCE Summit in Astana confirms it. Kazakhstan views the upcoming chairmanship in the OIC in 2011-2012 in great responsibility and intends to actively work over solution of topical problems of the Muslim world, promote formation of effective partnership of two largest political unions - the OSCE and OIC - on various issues of the global agenda".

Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit confirmed Cairo's interest in strategic cooperation development with Astana within the framework of bilateral relations as well as in the sphere of multilateral diplomacy. In this connection the Egyptian Minister welcomed the Kazakh Foreign Minister's initiative to tune up interaction of Kazakhsatn and Egypt within the framework of the OIC. Ahmed Aboul Gheit noted that the Egyptian party pays great significance to President N.Nazarbayev's participation in the 12th OIC Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh in March, 2011, taking into account his important role in the global policy.
