State Counselor Karin holds State Symbols Commission meeting
Kazakh State Counselor Erlan Karin chaired a meeting of the Republican Commission on State Symbols and Heraldry of Departmental and Similar Awards, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Kazakh Culture and Information Minister Aida Balayeva and mayor of Shymkent Gabit Syzdykbekov delivered their reports at the meeting.
The meeting focused on the improvement of legislative and regulatory legal acts, regulating the system of departmental awards as well as the use of state symbols.
During the meeting, the Republican Commission rejected the proposals of a number of government bodies to introduce three new departmental awards.
We need to put some order into the system of departmental awards. Firstly, there is no need to increase the types of departmental awards, but we need to optimize them based on a thorough analysis. Secondly, we need to set quantitative quotas for departmental awards for each government body. Finally, we need to increase the personal responsibility of first heads of central government bodies in the sphere of departmental awards, said Karin.
The Kazakh State Counselor highlighted that the work is ongoing to ensure state control in the sphere of state, departmental and public awards. The corresponding legislative amendments are under consideration in the parliament.
Following the meeting, the State Counselor gave a number of concrete tasks to enhance further work in the sphere of state symbols, awards and heraldry.
