State of emergency declared in one of districts in Atyrau region

A local emergency was declared as flooding hit Zhylyoi district in Atyrau region, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Floodwaters swept Karagai village of Kosshagyl rural district forcing authorities to evacuate locals to safer places. Women, children, and disabled people will be evacuated first. Three temporary shelters are open in Kulsary district centre at secondary schools.
