State purchases of Transport Ministry to make KZT 64 bln in 2009: Minister

ASTANA. January 15. KAZINFORM /Zauresh Balkenova/ State purchases of the Ministry of Transport and Communications in the current year will make KZT 64 bln. 90% out of them falls on domestic goods, works and services. Minister Serik Akhmetov has made it public at the sitting of board today, Kazinform reports.

Mr. Akhmetov highlighted that the transport-communications complex is the largest consumer of materials and services of related sectors. ?For example, railway sector?s needs in rolling stock renewal can make USD 6 bln in the nearest 10 years. Kazakhstan?s share in this sum at the first stage will comprise 14%, at the next stages it can reach 38%?, the Head of the Ministry said.
