‘STOP traffic’ unveils 54 cases of human trafficking

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - In the period from July 28 to August 1 of the current year "STOP traffic" preventive operation was carried out in the country to prevent, deter, detect and solve crimes related to human trafficking, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

"During the operation members of the units to combat organized crime have detected 54 crimes related to human trafficking", the statement reads. In addition, in the course of preventive operations there were identified and registered 37 persons assisting in prostitution and 271 persons engaged in prostitution. 48 persons including 16 CIS citizens, who were engaged in the provision of paid sexual services, have been put into a special center of the Internal Affairs to establish their identity. Moreover,16 people have violated the rules of stay on the territory of Kazakhstan.
