“The Head of State is prioritizing the development of agro-industrial complex. During his foreign visits, the President proactively promotes investment opportunities in this sector," Berik Uali said.

Despite the spring floods, this year's harvest set a ten-year record. This outcome can be attributed to the government's systematic support for farmers, including soft loans for spring fieldwork and harvesting at a rate of 5%. For the first time, more than half a trillion tenge was allocated for these purposes.

“A key objective is to reduce the country's reliance on imported basic food products. To this end, a number of projects have been implemented. A comprehensive plan for the development of breeding and seed production has been adopted. Tasks have been set to provide agrarians with domestically produced seeds,” Berik Uali highlighted.

Additionally, the Advisor and Press Secretary of the Kazakh President noted that 120 billion has been earmarked for the annual upgrade of 8-10% of agricultural machinery fleet, and a program of preferential leasing of domestically produced agricultural machinery at a rate of 5% per annum has been initiated.

On top of that, in anticipation of heightened demand for food products in forthcoming years, there is a proposal to construct warehousing and logistics facilities with a storage capacity of 700,000 tons.

This year also saw the inaugural forum of Kazakhstan's agricultural workers, which identified key objectives for the development of industry. As part of the forum, a special law was passed aimed at preserving and increasing the number of Kazakhstani horse breeds, and the government was instructed to establish the Institute of Horse Breeding.

As earlier reported, Kazakhstan had established the Institute of Horse Breeding and Forage Production. Its founder is the National Agrarian Scientific and Educational Center.
