Storm alert in place in most of Kazakhstan

A storm alert was issued for Astana as well as 12 regions of Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency cites Kazhydromet.

The Kazakh capital of Astana is to brace for black ice.

Karaganda and Ulytau regions are to expect black ice. 18mps southwesterly wind is expected in the north of the region in the daytime.

Mangistau region is to see 15-20mps southeasterly wind in the south, west in the nighttime and in the south and center in the daytime.

Heavy precipitation and fog are predicted in Almaty region.

Fog is to coat Aktobe region.

North Kazakhstan region is to expect black ice, ground blizzard, and fog. 15-20mps southeasterly wind is predicted in the south and west of the region.

Precipitation, black ice, fog, and blizzard are in store for Kostanay region.

Akmola region is to brace for black ice, ground blizzard, and fog. Southwesterly wind at 15-20mps is predicted in the west, south, and north of the region.

Zhetysu region is to expect 15-20mps westerly wind, reaching 25mps at times at night.

Pavlodar region is to see fog and black ice. 15-20mps southwesterly wind is predicted in the west and south of the region in the daytime.

Turkestan region is to brace for heavy precipitation as rain and snow, black ice, and fog. 15-20mps northwesterly wind turning eastward is predicted in the region’s northern part in the nighttime.

Fog is to coat Abai region. The region is to see 15-20mps southeasterly wind turning southwestward in the west and center. Gusts of up to 25mps are predicted.
