Storm alert issued for Kazakh capital and 13 regions

 The National Met Service Kazhydromet has warned of worsening weather conditions in Astana and 13 regions of the country, Kazinform News Agency reports. 

On December 22, the Kazakh capital of Astana is to brace for ground blizzard, fog, and black ice, North Kazakhstan region – ground blizzard and black ice, Kyzylorda and Aktobe regions – fog and ice on roads, and Akmola region – ground blizzard.

Strong wind is predicted in Zhambyl and Mangistau as well as Zhetysu regions.

Fog is to coat Ulytau, Karaganda, West Kazakhstan, and Atyrau regions.

Black ice is expected in Kostanay and Pavlodar regions.
