A storm alert was issued for 16 regions of Kazakhstan and Astana, Kazinform News Agency cites Kazhydromet.

Fog is expected in Turkistan and Mangistau regions.

Ice-slick is forecast to form in Kostanay region with fog predicted in the morning and at night.

Karaganda, Ulytau, regions are set to brace for fog and ice-slick.

High wind gusting 17-22 m/s is reported to roll through Zhetysu region.

The Kazakh capital is also expected to wake up to foggy streets today.

Wind gusts are predicted to reach 18-23, locally 28 m/s in Atyrau region.

Akmola region is forecast to observe fog, ice-slick, high wind and ground blizzard.

Rain and snow, ground blizzard, ice-slick and reported to grip North Kazakhstan.

West Kazakhstan is also forecast to face snow and rain, high wind and a drop in air temperature.
