Storms, tornadoes hit U.S. SE states
HOUSTON. May 4. KAZINFORM A line of powerful thunderstorms on Sunday hit U.S. southeast states, knocking down trees and power lines, developing at least four tornadoes in northwest Georgia alone, according to local media reports; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

A 46-year-old woman was killed when a tree fell on her while she was standing outside her home in the southeastern part of Mississippi, another resident was injured, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said.
The storms dropped heavy rains and prompted flash flood warnings in Mississippi and Louisiana, but there were no reports of major damage.
At least four funnel clouds were spotted in northwest Georgia, but caused no significant damage or injuries. Several funnel clouds also were reported in Alabama, leaving structural damage; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
