Strategic grain terminal resumes operation in Mangistau region
The grain terminal in Beineu district has resumed operations after a long break, Kazinform News Agency reports citing Mangistau region's akimat.
he enterprise, which has been closed since 2018, released its first products today.
10 freight cars or 700 tons of wheat, have arrived at the terminal so far. 75% of grain is used for flour production, and 25% for bran manufacture.
Governor of Beineu district Rakhymzhan Shalbaev and Chairman of the local maslikhat Ardak Borash were among the first guests to survey the terminal.
Deputy Chairman of the local council of veterans Kadyr Sarssen attended the ceremony of launching the terminal.
Beineu grain terminal is a strategically important facility of Mangistau region. Covering an area of 26 hectares, it is considered to be a promising logistics hub with its own rolling stock and an eight-kilometer railway providing direct access to the Kazakh-Turkmen border.
The terminal's capacity enables to store up to 100,000 tons of grain and produce 320 tons of flour and 80 tons of bran per day. After modernization, the capacity will be increased to 400 tons of flour and 240 tons of combined fodder, respectively.
The terminal was launched by LLP Eurasia Trans Logistics together with Caspiy Cocial-Entrepreneurial Corporation.
