'Strengthening Ombudsman Institution in Kazakhstan' project's implementation discussed in Astana

ASTANA. March 3. KAZINFORM A coordination meeting on negotiation of the project "Strengthening Ombudsman Institution in Kazakhstan" implemented by the Commissioner for Human Rights in Kazakhstan, OSCE Center in Astana and Danish Institute for Human Rights has been held in Astana today.

As the press service of the Ombudsman reported, Kazakh Ombudsman Askar Shakirov informed the representatives of Embassies of the OSCE member states and international organizations about the process of implementation of the project and measures taken by Kazakhstan in the sphere of human rights and freedoms protection.

The participants of the meeting appreciated the activities held within the project and emphasized the necessity of its further implementation.

Head of the OSCE Center in Astana Alexander Keltchewsky and Head of the ODIHR Election Observation Mission to Kazakhstan Daan Everts took part in the meeting.
