Strong quake jolts Tokyo

TOKYO. March 15. KAZINFORM A strong and shallow earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.0 jolted Shizuoka Prefecture and its vicinity, including Tokyo, on Tuesday evening, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

The earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted off the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 13:27:53 GMT, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of one km, was initially determined to be at 37.6261 degrees north latitude and 142.3196 degrees east longitude.
