Suicide bomber kills 14 police recruits in Pakistan
MOSCOW. August 30. KAZINFORM. A suicide bomber entered a police training center in northwest Pakistan on Sunday, and killed at least 14 police cadets, officials said; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
The attack in Mingora, the largest town in the Swat Valley, comes amid a major military operation in the area against terrorist groups. Several other police recruits were injured in the blast.
Local information minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain told media that the attack took place while a new police force was being trained. Locals reported hearing a loud blast followed by gunfire.
No insurgent groups have yet claimed responsibility for the attack; Kazinform cites RIA Novosti.
